Join one of our Empathy Experience Launch Events
To celebrate the launch of my new book: The Empathy Gap, I’m hosting three amazing Empathy Tasting Experience Events. In partnership with BIO Australia, Heaps Normal Brewing, Chocolat Philippe, Sazerac Company, WildLane Tea and Wine Woman we are putting together an event like no other. As far as book launches go, this one will taste very different.
Here is what you can expect. On arrival, you will be given an Empathy Card. After a short discussion about the book, you will be asked to pair up with someone you don’t know and ask them the question on your card and listen with interest to their answer. They will then ask you the question on their card and listen to your answer.
Next, you will be directed to go and taste some of the beautiful wine, whiskey, tea, beer and chocolate that we have on offer. But you won’t be just tasting them for you. Your job will be to search for flavours that link to the story your partner shared with you. You will be linking flavours to emotions and memories based on what you heard from them. Once you have found a little selection, you and your partner will meet back up and share what you have chosen for each other and why it linked for you. Two people connecting in personal stories and succulent flavours. Empathy in practice.
Of course you will have plenty of time to mingle, meet new people and share deeper connections. You can even get a copy of The Empathy Gap (at a book launch, who’d have thought). The only sad news is that it is a strictly limited event in terms of numbers, so make sure you book your place to help close the gap and join what will be a first of a kind Book Launch & Empathy Experience.
